Creative Assembly/SegaCameron Faulkner (he/him) is Polygon’s commerce editor. He began writing about tech and gaming in 2013, and migrated from The Verge in 2023.Whether it’s coincidence or maybe because Amazon’s very good at reading the room, Alien: Isolation is free to play for Prime members through Halloween via its Luna cloud game streaming service. This is welcome news in light of Creative Assembly’s surprise announcement this week that a sequel to the first-person thriller is in development. If you haven’t had the opportunity to play the original, which remains one of the most terrifying games out there, you can quickly boot it on the internet browser on your laptop, phone, tablet, or likely on your smart TV. Luna games support keyboard and mouse but you can play via a connected controller. Considering that this 2014 game still usually sells for $39.99 on Steam, that is all the motivation I need to get busy playing it via Luna.Amazon is offering two more free and fantastic first-person shooters to Prime members, and these are for keeps. Doom Eternal (redeemable on Microsoft Store) and BioShock Remastered (GOG.com) can be picked up now through Nov. 14 and Jan. 8 2025, respectively. I guess if there’s a throughline between all of these games it’s that they’re filled with beasts and mutations that want to kill you, and I’d be absolutely miserable to be stuck in any of their worlds. If, by chance, you don’t subscribe to Amazon Prime, well for starters you just missed out on its bi-annual Prime Day sale. However, it’s not too late to miss out on these goodies, so grab a subscription if you want. With a Prime membership, you’ll also be able to snag a large catalog of other free games, including Borderlands 2 on the Epic Games Store, Kerbal Space Program and Cat Quest 2 on GOG.com, and many more.Amazon Prime$15$15New members may be eligible for a free trial.Read More$15 at Amazon (monthly)

Read moreIt’s fairly well understood that Diablo 4’s first evolution post-launch came with Season 4: Loot Reborn, which revamped much of the game’s loot and itemisation loops. The next evolution will arrive with the Vessel of Hatred expansion, and its aptly named patch 2.0.Blizzard hasn’t quite explained what patch 2.0 will do to the game, but the developer recently confirmed what players have long be guessing: a major change to the levelling curve is coming, which may even take the form of a level cap squish. The good news? Read moreEverybody Still Hates Chris, the animated continuation of 2000s sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, finally has a release date. You can only wonder how long people could hate Chris Rock for, but as it turns out, it’s quite a while, as people are continuing to hate him in the upcoming Comedy Central show. Earlier this week, a premiere date was finally set for the show, as well as a first look at the show, which you can see in the image at the top of the page. The animated series is currently set to air next month, September 25 at 10pm ET, though I have to say, they’re cutting it a bit close in terms of actually advertising the show – there hasn’t been a single trailer for it yet, and with a month left to go, that doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. To see this content please enable targeting cookie…

Read moreTekken has had a few licensed characters over the years, but apparently series director Katsuhiro Harada once asked if Colonel Sanders could be in it.Noctis, Geese Howard, Akuma – these are all guest characters that have appeared in Tekken, all of which generally make some amount of sense (they do all share the fact that they’re all video game characters, at the very least). Sure, The Walking Dead’s Negan Smith is a bit of an odd one, but hey, the vibes are more or less right. You know who would be incredibly out of place though? KFC’s Colonel Sanders, and yet somewhere along the line director Katsuhiro Harada wanted just that, and even went so far as to speak to the fried chicken producer itself in Japan. To see this content please enable targeting cookies.Manage cookie settings Harada rec…
Read moreIt’s been a long while since the modding team behind Fallout: Nuevo México had anything to show off, but the New Vegas mod finally has an official reveal trailer.Fallout 4 is nine years old next month, and even though Bethesda did put out Fallout 76 in the years since then, there hasn’t been a single-player sequel, and there won’t be one until after Elder Scrolls 6, which is still a while away itself (even if Bethesda doesn’t want to wait that long either). Thankfully, though, modders have come together to create entire expansion-sized mods like Fallout: London to help fill the gap, and despite being put on hold earlier this year, and later being taken off hold, the team behind Fallout: Nuevo México has released the mod’s first official trailer, and it’s quite the impressive …
